Join homeowners/restorers Tim Robertson and Erin Randel for a discussion about the challenges and opportunities in the ‘functional restoration’ of Cleveland’s unique housing stock. We'll assemble for the evening in the backyard of their recently restored home near E. 185th and Neff Road.

They have spent the last year rehabbing this three-family home, originally built as a boarding house, using circular economy principles of reducing waste and pollution, investing in reuse and repair, respecting natural systems, and supporting economic opportunity in the community.

They define a functional restoration as one that respects the bones and character of the house while meeting the needs of a second century, including environmental and health impacts. This conversation will find common ground around existing and potential resources for lead safe, green, and DIY home projects.
