The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is proud to be a host of a Common Ground event on Sunday, July 18, 2021 from 9am-11am on the Museum's outdoor plaza. Our facilitators for the event will be the Museum's Chief Curator Nwaka Onwusa and Mandy Smith, Museum's Director of Education. The conversation will focus on "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Music". Specifically, the facilitators will focus the conversation on racism and music; how music has been a powerful platform to express rage, hope and empowerment in the fight for social justice; and where we as an institution and a community go from here as we link arms together in pursuit of social justice. The event will take place on the Museum's plaza and will be free for participants to attend. Light breakfast and beverages will be provided for free to attendees. The Museum will have picnic tables arranged and encourage small group seating. The event will both include large group discussion and small group breakout sessions and is anticipated to last between 90 minutes- 2 hours (max.).
